Myrdal train station

Myrdal is one of the local train stations in county Hordaland. It’s famous because of two reasons. First of all it’s one of the station on the train line connecting Bergen and Oslo. This route is known as one of the most beautiful train routes in the world.

Secondly the station is the upper terminal of the famous  Flåmsbane – Flåm Line local railway. The station is 867 metres (2,844 ft) above mean sea level, so the whole travel down to Flåm and back is an incredibly beautiful, especially during the summer.

Sunset in Geilo

Winter has arrived and now snow is slowly covering Norwegian mountains. This photo was taken in Geilo in county Buskerud. This small town is blooming during the ski season. It’s because of the unique location –  one of the major valleys of eastern Norway called Hallingdal. The Bergen Line facilitated Geilo’s development as the first skiing resort in the country, and it is still one of the largest. It is also famous for having some of the most luxurious and expensive holiday cabins in Norway.

Music pavilion in Bergen

Yesterday was a surprisingly good weather in Bergen! Although there was no sun, you could still feel that the spring is just around the corner! Clouds were very low, giving us +9 degrees during the day and no rain! When you live in the city, where it’s raining for almost 8 months a year, you really start to appreciate days like the one on the photo. This photo was taken in September 2015, and it shows XIX century music pavilion (Musikkpaviljongen)  in the heart of the city park in Bergen. During the summer you can here from there different kinds of music, such as classical music, jazz or just brass bands!
